The exotic reptiles and pets fair is coming to Lafayette

The district event center accommodates reptiles, amphibians and insects to be purchased directly from breeders at a reduced price.

The reptile exhibit features 63 vendors from across the country. Showcasing reptiles and domestic animals such as lizards, geckos, snakes, crickets, turtles, frogs, as well as small animals and even poisonous snakes.

“Herps Exotic Reptile and Pet Show” owner Shawn Gray says the event is a great way to learn more about pets that can make you anxious.

“It’s an interesting experience for people, especially for kids. Fear is something we are taught, it’s not something we were born with specifically for reptiles. So there is. a lot of misconceptions about reptiles, they’re slimy, snakes will bite you, things like that can be completely dispelled here, ”Gray said.

The reptile and pet show is also a way to learn fun facts about cool exotic reptiles.

Homemade okra, kidney beans and rice will also be served at their concessions.

“We welcome all ages no matter what. Come and find out who we are,” said Gray.

The Herps Reptile and Pet show will be in the District this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Johnston Street.
