See frogs, lizards and snakes at the Capital District Reptile Expo

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – The Capital District Reptile Expo returns to the Albany Capital Center on September 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event allows participants to discover and purchase exotic pets and supplies for them.

The exhibit includes over 160 vendors who will be selling reptiles, amphibians, aquatic animals, exotic small mammals, arachnids, insects and crustaceans. Vendors will also sell feeders, enclosures, and animal care items.

The education room will provide opportunities for hands-on learning with zoologists, veterinarians and other professional educators. There will also be speakers who will give presentations on various topics throughout the day.

Event officials said they do not endorse the unethical capture and sale of wild animals. They carefully select vendors who have an excellent reputation for care and responsible breeding. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to 1% For The Planet and the American Reptile Keepers Association for Wildlife Conservation.

This is the fourth year of operation for the Capital District Reptile Expo. Officials said previous spring and fall events drew more than 4,000 people.

General admission tickets are available on the Capital District Reptile Exhibit website. Tickets will also be available at the entrance. Parking for the event will be available at the discounted rate of $8 at the MVP Arena parking garage.
